Correct Answer: (a) मसि्तष्क

-यह ग्रन्थि मस्तिष्क में होती है। इसका आकार अण्डे के समान होता है। यह कपाल की जतूकास्थि (Sphenoid Bone) के खात में रहती है । इसके दो भाग होते हैं (Anterior Lobe) और एक पिछला (Posterior Lobe), इसका अगला भाग जतूकास्थि में रहता है और पिछला एक डण्ठल द्वारा मस्तिष्क में मिला रहता है। इस ग्रन्थि का आकार मटर के दाने के बराबर होता है और यह मस्तिष्क के अधर तल पर लगी रहती है । यह बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण ग्रन्थि है क्योंकि इसका प्रभाव अन्य नि:स्रोत ग्रन्थियों के कार्य पर भी पड़ता है। इसी विशेषता के कारण इसे ‘मास्टर ग्रन्थि’ (Master Gland) भी कहते हैं।

इस (पीयूष ग्रन्थि से जिसे अंग्रेजी में पिट्यूटरी ग्लैण्ड के नाम से जाना जाता है। )

The hypothalamus is responsible for regulating hunger, thirst, response to pain, levels of pleasure, sexual satisfaction, anger and aggressive behavior, etc.<br/>हाइपोथैलेमस या अधश्चेतक मस्तिष्क का एक विभाग है। हाइपोथैलेमस पिट्यूटरी ग्रंथि के कार्यों को नियंत्रित करता है, जो एड्रेनल ग्रंथियों, टेस्टिकल्स, थायराइड और अंडाशय की गतिविधि को नियंत्रित करने में मदद करता है। इसके अलावा, हाइपोथैलेमस का नाभिक शरीर के तापमान को विनियमित करने, भावनाओं, प्रजनन कार्यों, दूध उत्पादन, विकास प्रक्रियाओं, शरीर में तरल पदार्थ और लवण के संतुलन के लिए जिम्मेदार होता है, भूख, नींद और वजन।तीसरे वेंट्रिकल के आधार पर स्थित मध्यवर्ती मस्तिष्क की संरचना को हाइपोथैलेमस कहा जाता है। यह क्या है? यह एक जटिल प्रणाली है, जिसमें तीस से अधिक कोर शामिल हैं। हाइपोथैलेमस तंत्रिका और अंतःस्रावी तंत्र को बांधता है। केंद्रीय तंत्रिका तंत्र शरीर में प्रवेश करने वाले पदार्थों के संतुलन को नियंत्रित करता है और चयापचय की प्रक्रियाओं पर खर्च करता है, यानी भूख की व्यवस्था के निर्माण के लिए यह जिम्मेदार है।
