Dental plaque is a biofilm or mass of bacteria that grows on surfaces within the mouth. It appears as a white/pale yellow “smile layer” commonly found in between the teeth and along the cervical margins. Plaques formed on teeth are made up of food particles, saliva, mouth acids and bacteria in the oral cavity. Saliva has a normal Ph range of 6.2-7.6 with 6.7 being the average pH.

यह एक चिपचिपा पदार्थ होता है जिसका निर्माण तब होता है जब मुँह में मौजूद बैक्‍टीरिया, मुँह में पड़े खाद्य कणों एवं लार के साथ मिलकर दांतों की सतह पर जमने लगते हैं।

प्‍लेक में (बैक्‍टीरिया,प्रोटोज़ोआ, माइकोप्‍लाज़माज़, यीस्‍ट) मौजूद होते हैं, जो प्राकृतिक रूप से मुँह में होते हैं।

Teeth and bones both are hard, white and heavy. Teeth are composed of calcium, phosphorous and other minerals. Bones contain calcium, phosphorus, sodium and other minerals, but mostly consist of the protein collagen.

The brain is composed of the cerebrum, cerebellum, and brainstem. The cerebrum is the largest part of the brain and it performs higher functions like interpreting touch, vision and hearing as well as speech, reasoning, learning and fine control of movement. The function of the cerebellum is to coordinate muscle movements, maintain posture and balance. The brainstem performs many automatic functions such as breathing, heart rate, body temperature, woke and sleep cycles, digestion, etc. Hence, option (d) is the correct answer.

मस्तिष्क के द्वारा शरीर के विभिन्न अंगो के कार्यों का नियंत्रण एवं नियमन होता है। अतः मस्तिष्क को शरीर का मालिक अंग कहते हैं। इसका मुख्य कार्य ज्ञान, बुद्धि, तर्कशक्ति, स्मरण, विचार निर्णय, व्यक्तित्व आदि का नियंत्रण एवं नियमन करना है। एक नये अध्ययन में निष्कर्ष निकाला गया है कि मस्तिष्क के आकार से व्यक्तित्व की झलक मिल सकती है। वास्तव में बच्चों का जन्म एक अलग व्यक्तित्व के रूप में होता है और जैसे जैसे उनके मस्तिष्क का विकास होता है उसके अनुरुप उनका व्यक्तित्व भी तैयार होता है।

मस्तिष्क (Brain), खोपड़ी (Skull) में स्थित है। यह चेतना (consciousness) और स्मृति (memory) का स्थान है। सभी ज्ञानेंद्रियों - नेत्र, कर्ण, नासा, जिह्रा तथा त्वचा - से आवेग यहीं पर आते हैं, जिनको समझना अर्थात् ज्ञान प्राप्त करना मस्तिष्क का काम्र है। पेशियों के संकुचन से गति करवाने के लिये आवेगों को तंत्रिकासूत्रों द्वारा भेजने तथा उन क्रियाओं का नियमन करने के मुख्य केंद्र मस्तिष्क में हैं, यद्यपि ये क्रियाएँ मेरूरज्जु में स्थित भिन्न केन्द्रो से होती रहती हैं। अनुभव से प्राप्त हुए ज्ञान को सग्रह करने, विचारने तथा विचार करके निष्कर्ष निकालने का काम भी इसी अंग का है।

The three main parts of the brain are the cerebrum, the cerebellum and the brain stem.

The cerebrum is the biggest part of the brain and it is the part that controls movement, thinking, feeling and general problem-solving abilities.

The cerebellum is smaller than the cerebrum. This part of the brain sits at the back of your skull, underneath the cerebrum.

The cerebellum is responsible for controlling co-ordination and balance. The hippocampus is the part of the cerebrum that deals with memory.

प्रमस्तिष्क पक्षाघात या सेरेब्रल पाल्सी (cerebral palsy) सेरेब्रल का अर्थ मसि्तष्क के दोनो भाग तथा पाल्सी का अर्थ किसी ऐसा विकार या क्षति से है जो शारीरिक गति के नियंत्रण को क्षतिग्रस्त करती है। एक प्रसिद्ध शल्य चिकित्सक विलियम लिटिल ने 1860 ई में बच्चो में पाई जाने वाली असामान्यता से सम्बंधित चिकित्सा की चर्चा की थी जिसमे हाथ एवं पाव की मांसपेशियों में कड़ापन पाया जाता है।

ऐसे बच्चों को वस्तु पकड़ने तथा चलने में कठिनाई होती है जिसे लम्बे समय तक लिटिल्स रोग के नाम से जाना जाता था। अब इसे प्रमस्तिष्कीय पक्षाघात (सेरिब्रल पाल्सी) कहते हैं। 'सेरेब्रल' का अर्थ है मस्तिष्क के दोनों भाग तथा पाल्सी का अर्थ है ऐसी असामान्यता या क्षति जो शारीरिक गति के नियंत्रण को नष्ट करती है प्रमस्तिष्कीय पक्षाघात का अर्थ है मस्तिष्क का लकवा।यह मस्तिष्कीय क्षति बच्चो के जन्म के पहले, जन्म के समय और जन्म के बाद कभी भी हो सकता है इसमें जितनी ज्यादा मस्तिष्क की क्षति होगी उतनी ही अधिक बच्चो में विकलांगता की गंभीरता बढ़ जाती है
