USE OF WHEN/ WHILE
When / while-
● जब दो घटनाएं साथ साथ हो या एक के तुरंत बाद दूसरी घटना हो तो when का use किया जाता है|
● जब दो घटनाएं साथ साथ चल रही हो तो while का use किया जाता है|
Example-
● _______ I was young ,I used to walk ten miles daily/no error
Correct sent- when I was young ,I used to walk ten miles daily/no error
Reason- जब दो घटनाएं साथ साथ हो या एक के तुरंत बाद दूसरी घटना हो तो when का use किया जाता है|
Example-
● _______ I was reading, my brother was playing/no error
Correct sent- while I was reading, my brother was playing/no error
Reason- जब दो घटनाएं साथ साथ चल रही हो तो while का use किया जाता है|
Example-
I reached there ______ the bus arrived / no error
Correct sent- I reached there when the bus arrived / no error
Reason- जब दो घटनाएं साथ साथ हो या एक के तुरंत बाद दूसरी घटना हो तो when का use किया जाता है|
Example-
_______ I was coming back ,it started raining heavily/no error
Correct sent- while I was coming back ,it started raining heavily/no error
Reason- जब दो घटनाएं साथ साथ चल रही हो तो while का use किया जाता है|
Example-
I understood the matter_____ i saw Mohan /no error
Correct sent- I understood the matter when i saw Mohan /no error
Reason- जब दो घटनाएं साथ साथ हो या एक के तुरंत बाद दूसरी घटना हो तो when का use किया जाता है|
Example
_______ I was a child ,I used to collect stamps as a hobby/no error
Correct sent- when I was a child ,I used to collect stamps as a hobby/no error
Reason- जब दो घटनाएं साथ साथ हो या एक के तुरंत बाद दूसरी घटना हो तो when का use किया जाता है|
NOTE- while का प्रयोग where as (जबकि) के भी अर्थ में किया जाता है|
Example
● India wants peace ________ Pakistan wants war / no error
Correct sent- India wants peace while/ where as Pakistan wants war / no error
Reason- while का प्रयोग where as (जबकि) के भी अर्थ में किया जाता है|
Example-
Mr. Modi is working very hard where as his ministers are making merry/ no error
Correct sent- Mr. Modi is working very hard while his ministers are making merry/ no error
Reason- while का प्रयोग where as (जबकि) के भी अर्थ में किया जाता है|
