 Tansen

Everyone in our country knows the great tansen. He was the greatest musician our country has produced. He lived in Behat near Gwalior. Tansen imitates the calls of birds and animals. One day in the forest, Tansen found some travellers going through the forest, so he decided to scare them by imitating the sound of a tiger.

हमारे देश में हर कोई महान तानसेन को जानता है। वह हमारे देश के सबसे महान संगीतकार थे। वह ग्वालियर के पास बेहट में रहता था। तानसेन पक्षियों और जानवरों की पुकार का अनुकरण करते हैं। एक दिन जंगल में, तानसेन ने कुछ यात्रियों को जंगल से गुजरते हुए देखा, इसलिए उन्होंने बाघ की आवाज की नकल करके उन्हें डराने का फैसला किया।

This group was guided by a famous singer named Swami Haridas and tansen made the sound of a tiger and everyone got scared but Haridas ji said don't be scared by the tiger because every tiger is not scary and one of his men found him.

इस समूह को स्वामी हरिदास नाम के एक प्रसिद्ध गायक द्वारा निर्देशित किया गया था और तानसेन ने एक बाघ की आवाज बनाई और सभी डर गए लेकिन हरिदास जी ने कहा कि बाघ से डरो मत क्योंकि हर बाघ डरावना नहीं है और उनके एक आदमी ने उन्हें पाया।

After this Swami Haridas wanted to teach music to him and Tansen' father also agreed with him and sent tansen with Swami Haridas and he was with him for 10 years. He became a very good musician. At this time his parents died but his father wanted Tansen to visit holy man Mohammad Ghaus of gwalior. Mohammad Ghaus used to take him to court of Rani Mrignaini who was also a great musician. There Tansen married to one of the ladies of court named Hussaini.

इसके बाद स्वामी हरिदास उन्हें संगीत सिखाना चाहते थे और तानसेन के पिता ने भी उनकी बात मान ली और स्वामी हरिदास के साथ भेज दिया और वह 10 साल तक उनके साथ रहे। वे बहुत अच्छे संगीतकार बने। इस समय उनके माता-पिता की मृत्यु हो गई लेकिन उनके पिता चाहते थे कि तानसेन ग्वालियर के पवित्र व्यक्ति मोहम्मद गौस से मिले। मोहम्मद गौस उन्हें रानी मृगनैनी के दरबार में ले जाते थे जो एक महान संगीतकार भी थीं। वहाँ तानसेन का विवाह दरबार की एक महिला हुसैनी से हुआ।

Tansen and his wife also became disciples of Swami Haridas. Tansen and hussaini had 5 children and they all were also musicians. In 1556 he went to Akbar's court and soon he became his favourite singer. Akbar was so fond of him, he called him whenever he wanted to listen to music night and day, even go to his home to listen to him.

तानसेन और उनकी पत्नी भी स्वामी हरिदास के शिष्य बने। तानसेन और हुसैनी के 5 बच्चे थे और वे सभी संगीतकार भी थे। 1556 में वह अकबर के दरबार में गया और जल्द ही वह उसका पसंदीदा गायक बन गया। अकबर को उससे इतना लगाव था कि वह जब भी रात-दिन संगीत सुनना चाहता था, उसे फोन करता था, यहाँ तक कि उसे सुनने के लिए उसके घर भी जाता था।

  

Seeing the love of Akbar for Tansen his fellow courtier became very jealous and wanted to get rid of him. So Shaukat mian made a plan against him to make him sing Ragga deepak and told Akbar, let's test Tansen whether he would be able to sing Raga deepak but Akbar had confidence he can sing and asked him to sing Raga deepak. Tansen agreed and took a two weeks period for practice. 

तानसेन के लिए अकबर के प्रेम को देखकर उसका साथी दरबारी बहुत ईर्ष्यालु हो गया और उससे छुटकारा पाना चाहता था। तो शौकत मियां ने उसके खिलाफ एक योजना बनाई कि वह उसे रग्गा दीपक गाए और अकबर से कहा, चलो तानसेन का परीक्षण करें कि क्या वह राग दीपक गा पाएगा लेकिन अकबर को विश्वास था कि वह गा सकता है और उसे राग दीपक गाने के लिए कहा। तानसेन सहमत हो गए और उन्होंने अभ्यास के लिए दो सप्ताह का समय लिया।

Raga deepak is a raga when sung,it produces so much heat that the singer would burn to ashes. Tansen was afraid but at the same time he wanted to sing his master's demand. So he decided when the lamp would get burned after this his daughter and her friend would sing Raga Megh to bring rain to reduce heat effect and he would be saved. 

राग दीपक एक राग है जब गाया जाता है, यह इतनी गर्मी पैदा करता है कि गायक जलकर राख हो जाता है। तानसेन डर गया लेकिन साथ ही वह अपने गुरु की मांग को गाना चाहता था। तो उसने तय किया कि दीया कब जलेगा इसके बाद उसकी बेटी और उसकी सहेली राग मेघ गाकर गर्मी के प्रभाव को कम करने के लिए बारिश लाएगी और वह बच जाएगा।

On a decided day, the whole town assembled to hear raga Deepak. When he started singing this raga it was extreme heat everywhere bird died, leaves fell from tree, river water has started boiling, people were cried out of terror as flames were there and from no where lamps got lighted and his daughter and rupvati started singing Raga megh. Hence it rained and Tansen was saved but he got very ill. 

एक निश्चित दिन पर, राग दीपक को सुनने के लिए पूरा शहर इकट्ठा हो गया। जब उन्होंने इस राग को गाना शुरू किया तो हर जगह चिड़िया मर गई, पेड़ से पत्ते गिर गए, नदी का पानी उबलने लगा, लोग दहशत से चिल्लाने लगे क्योंकि आग की लपटें और कहीं से दीपक नहीं जले और उनकी बेटी और रूपवती ने राग गाना शुरू कर दिया मेघ इसलिए बारिश हुई और तानसेन बच गया लेकिन वह बहुत बीमार हो गया।

Akbar punished his enemies and when he got the whole city was happy. He remained singer of Akbar's court and composed several new Ragas till 1585 when he died. There is his tomb in gwalior.

अकबर ने अपने शत्रुओं को दंड दिया और जब उसे मिला तो पूरा शहर खुश हो गया। वह अकबर के दरबार के गायक रहे और 1585 तक कई नए रागों की रचना की जब उनकी मृत्यु हो गई। ग्वालियर में उनका मकबरा है।
