 The Cop and the anthem

This is the story of Soapy, a homeless, jobless man as winter is approaching, he has to find a place to stay to save himself from very high winters. Currently he lives in a park on the seat of Madison Square.

He is thinking of going to Blackwell’s Island which is nothing but a prison to spend his winter because there he would get a warm blanket,a cell and most important food to eat. currently , he has Three big newspapers, some under his coat and some over his legs, had not kept him warm during the night in the park.

यह एक बेघर, बेरोजगार आदमी सोपी की कहानी है, जैसे ही सर्दी आ रही है, उसे खुद को बहुत अधिक सर्दियों से बचाने के लिए रहने के लिए जगह ढूंढनी होगी। वर्तमान में वह मैडिसन स्क्वायर की सीट पर एक पार्क में रहता है।

वह ब्लैकवेल्स द्वीप जाने की सोच रहा है जो कि कुछ और नहीं बल्कि अपनी सर्दी बिताने के लिए एक जेल है क्योंकि वहां उसे एक गर्म कंबल, एक कोठरी और खाने के लिए सबसे महत्वपूर्ण भोजन मिलेगा। वर्तमान में, उसके पास तीन बड़े समाचार पत्र हैं, कुछ उसके कोट के नीचे और कुछ उसके पैरों के ऊपर, उसे पार्क में रात के दौरान गर्म नहीं रखा था।

Now he is making plans to get caught by cops, firstly he was thinking of going to a restaurant to have food without paying and in reaction to this restaurant’s owner would call cops, cops will catch him and he would be taken to court from where he will be sent to Blackwell’s island.

Now he entered a restaurant but he was sent back outside because of his dirty and torn clothes. As this plan failed, he went in front of the store and broke a front glass window of the store by stone in hope of being caught by police but he didn't run after doing so, police thought he wasn't the culprit and they ran after somebody else. 

अब वह पुलिस द्वारा पकड़े जाने की योजना बना रहा है, सबसे पहले वह बिना भुगतान के भोजन करने के लिए एक रेस्तरां में जाने की सोच रहा था और इस रेस्तरां के मालिक के जवाब में पुलिस को फोन करेगा, पुलिस उसे पकड़ लेगी और उसे अदालत ले जाया जाएगा जहां से वह ब्लैकवेल द्वीप भेजा जाएगा।

अब वह एक रेस्तरां में दाखिल हुआ लेकिन उसके गंदे और फटे कपड़ों के कारण उसे वापस बाहर भेज दिया गया। चूंकि यह योजना विफल हो गई, वह दुकान के सामने गया और पुलिस द्वारा पकड़े जाने की उम्मीद में दुकान के सामने के शीशे की खिड़की को पत्थर से तोड़ दिया, लेकिन वह ऐसा करने के बाद नहीं भागा, पुलिस को लगा कि वह अपराधी नहीं है और वे किसी और के पीछे भागा।

This plan failed again, now he again went to another restaurant and he hid his coat and shoes so that staff would let him enter. He was successful in entering and had a big dinner and at the time of payment. Soapy asked the waiters to call the cops as he didn't have any money to pay but the waiters didn't call the cops. They threw him outside of the restaurant. 

यह योजना फिर से विफल हो गई, अब वह फिर से दूसरे रेस्तरां में गया और उसने अपना कोट और जूते छुपाए ताकि कर्मचारी उसे प्रवेश कर सकें। वह प्रवेश करने में सफल रहा और उसने एक बड़ा रात्रिभोज और भुगतान के समय किया। सोपी ने वेटर्स को पुलिस को बुलाने के लिए कहा क्योंकि उनके पास भुगतान करने के लिए पैसे नहीं थे लेकिन वेटर्स ने पुलिस को नहीं बुलाया। उन्होंने उसे रेस्टोरेंट के बाहर फेंक दिया।

Again his plan to go jail has failed and then he picks up someone's umbrella in hope of getting caught but again cops disagree to catch him. Now he got disheartened and started walking toward Madison Square and passing through his old home where he used to live in childhood, from there he heard beautiful music which made him calm and peaceful. 

फिर से जेल जाने की उसकी योजना विफल हो गई और फिर वह पकड़े जाने की उम्मीद में किसी का छाता उठाता है लेकिन फिर से पुलिस उसे पकड़ने के लिए असहमत होती है। अब वह निराश हो गया और मैडिसन स्क्वायर की ओर चलने लगा और अपने पुराने घर से गुजरते हुए जहाँ वह बचपन में रहा करता था, वहाँ से उसने सुंदर संगीत सुना जिससे वह शांत और शांत हो गया।

He recalled his childhood time when he used to wear clean clothes and everything was clean & good. This changed the mind of Soapy, now he doesn't want to go to jail and live the life, the way he lived till date. He decided to do a job and make his life better,worth living. But at the same time the cop caught him as he was doing something and soapy argued with him but the cop didn't listen to him and he sent soapy to court where he was sent to Blackwell’s island for 3 months.

उन्होंने अपने बचपन के समय को याद किया जब वह साफ कपड़े पहनते थे और सब कुछ साफ और अच्छा था। इसने सोपी का मन बदल दिया, अब वह जेल नहीं जाना चाहता और जिस तरह से आज तक जी रहा था, वह जीवन नहीं जीना चाहता। उन्होंने नौकरी करने और अपने जीवन को बेहतर, जीने लायक बनाने का फैसला किया। लेकिन उसी समय पुलिस ने उसे पकड़ लिया क्योंकि वह कुछ कर रहा था और साबुन ने उससे बहस की लेकिन पुलिस ने उसकी बात नहीं मानी और उसने अदालत में साबुन भेजा जहां उसे 3 महीने के लिए ब्लैकवेल द्वीप भेज दिया गया।

Q3. What was Soapy’s first plan? Why did it not work?

Ans-Soapy’s first plan was to eat at an expensive restaurant and tell them that he did not have money to pay for that. They would call the cops and the cops would take him to jail.

The plan did not work because he was stopped at the door of the restaurant by the head waiter. He turned Soapy around and made him leave the place quickly and quietly.

Q4. “But the cop’s mind would not consider Soapy”. What did the cop not consider, and why?

Ans- Cop did not consider Soapy as the person who threw the stone at the window glass because no criminal would stand after doing so and talk to the cop.

Ans-The policeman was referring to the orders for not arresting the shouting college students.

Ans- Soapy stood in front of the house where he had spent his childhood. He was reminded of his mother, the sweet music he used to enjoy in his room and the decent life he used to have back then. He decided that he would work and become somebody in life.
